from October 1, 2024 to January 25, 2025

Born in 1956 in Saint-Hyacinthe, Luc Giard currently lives and works in Montreal. For the past forty years, he has utilized the conventions of comics as a medium to create a distinct body of work that defies traditional categorization.

Originally trained as a sculptor, he transitioned to focusing on drawing and painting in the mid-80s. He developed unique techniques such as scraped wax and collage-staples, which he refers to as brochages.

Primarily a comic book author, Giard enjoys reinterpreting characters from his childhood, such as Batman, the Thunderbirds, and especially Tintin, to craft adventure narratives with a personal touch.
